Who says you can’t take an ultra-endurance runner and make her a mountain biker?
I had been a runner for ten years, racing road and trail at pretty much every distance. After a few years of being passed every morning on my ride to work by people in khakis, I decided to retire my sneakers and get serious about cycling. With some not-so-gentle nudging from Jason, El Jefe de Gripped, I joined the team for my first racing season in 2013.
Riding with my mates last year, I gained many seasons worth of knowledge about road racing in one year. But school is still in session this year. I look forward to learning more and continuing to build my skills, particularly on the mountain bike, my current nemesis.
When I’m not riding, I’m a freelance graphic designer.
